Devo for 11/09/2025 Service - Message by Pastor Clint, Pastor Noemi, and Clayton
This past weekend, LifeMission Church hosted its first Celebrate Recovery “Come and See” Sunday. Celebrate Recovery has been an essential ministry at LifeMission for nearly 20 years. Originating from a church in Southern California in 1991, the program has helped thousands of individuals find freedom from their hurts, habits, and hang-ups. This includes hundreds of people who have found healing and freedom right here at our Church.
The testimonies shared by Pastor Noemi and Clayton, as well as those featured in the video, vividly illustrate how God meets each of us where we are, even in our deepest struggles, and walks with us through the healing that only He can provide. And through the testimonies, it became apparent that the Celebrate Recovery ministry is for everyone, not just “those” people.
We all have things in our lives that keep us from walking as the men God created us to be. Unfortunately, we all become skilled at saying things like, “I am ok, I have it under control”; “I know why I do that, I just need to fix it myself”; “That’s not for me, I’ve already worked on my stuff”; “My stuff is not so bad, those programs are for the really messed up people.” However, the truth is that we all need to look within ourselves, be honest, and deal with our issues.
There is nowhere in the Word that encourages us to hide our stuff (sin, wounds, hurts, habits, etc.) In fact, Psalm 32:3 says, “When I kept silent, my bones became brittle from my groaning all day long.” 1 John 1:8 tells us, “If we say we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” The point is, if we keep our junk inside of us, it will eat us up from the inside. And, this is important, at some point the truth will come to light.
For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all. Luke 8:17
I encourage everyone to ask this question of God:
“What is that one thing in my life that, if it were shown on the big screen at church, would make me crawl under the bed and curl up in the fetal position?”
When you receive your answer, commit to walking with God and bringing it to the light, and you will be healed.
Celebrate Recovery is an excellent opportunity to do just that. It is a safe, Christ-centered program that provides a pathway to healing. Check it out!
