Devo for 12/14/2025 Service - Message by Micah

We had our friend Micah speak to us this past weekend.  Micah has been on the mission field for over a decade and delivered an inspiring Advent message from Matthew 11, with the theme “Rejoice”.

During his message, Micah told the story about a muslim man who gave his life to Jesus.  It was not a “fast” process, but the man explained that one night Jesus showed him that his heart was evil, and then he said the Lord healed him of the evilness in his heart!  His life changed because he got into the presence of God, listened, and obeyed!

This is a common theme with salvation.  Something happens to a person, and they find themselves in the presence of God.  This could be that a friend invited them to church and they heard an altar call or someone’s testimony.  Maybe they were at a low point, such as after being arrested or home alone in a bedroom.  Something took place that allowed them to be in the presence of God. And anytime we come into the presence of God, He will offer us an invitation or an opportunity. This is the only way real, internal change can take place in our lives.

For the Muslim man in Micah’s story, he found himself in His presence and the Lord showed him the evil in his heart, and God also gave him the opportunity to receive healing of the evil in his heart.  He became a believer that day, and with the man’s obedience, I believe that day was the absolute best day of his life!

I think of the day  I gave my life to Jesus often.  While in the Lord’s presence, He invited me to an eternal life with Him and also gave me the opportunity to be healed from isolation, depravity, unbelief and unworthiness.  I just had to say yes! That was the best day of my life!

As we come to the end of 2025, I encourage all of you to think back to the day of your salvation.  Think of the day you were in the presence of God, said yes to His invitation, and had real change take place in your spirit!  Then rejoice in knowing we serve a God of Grace and Mercy.  A God who loves us so much that He forgets our sins and desires to reconcile us back to His holiness!

“…that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.” Romans 9:-9-10

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;”  Ephesians 2:8

Don’t forget to invite God into your day!
