Devo for 04/20/2025 service- Message by Pastor Clint Sprague
What a great Resurrection Sunday! Pastor Clint kicked off a new series called “The Veil Torn”. The Veil was instrumental in the temple for signifying the separation of the people from the Holy of Holies, which was the place on earth where God dwelt. This signified the separation that man had from God due to sin.
The Veil tearing upon Jesus’ death put an end to our separation from God, all because of the obedience of Jesus to take our place for the consequences of our sins. Pastor Clint summed up this by talking about three things that happened when the Veil tore:
Love Was Revealed
Death was Defeated
Access to God was Granted
Pastor Clint also raised this question: Do we take advantage of this access to God that Jesus died for? That's a good question to ask, and we should all take some time to ask ourselves that question. We need to take advantage of this access in all areas of our lives. We have access to Him at work, at home, on vacation, and everywhere we go. Don’t spend a day without taking advantage of the access directly to our Good Father in heaven.
I also felt strongly that we, as men, should look a little deeper into the first point Pastor Clint spoke about when the Veil tore, Love was Revealed. This love from God is real and certain, but as men, sometimes we feel have messed up so much that we are unlovable. That is NOT true! Our Father, who adopted us into HIS family, loves us unconditionally. As Pastor Clint pointed out, God loves it when we run to Him; he yearns for His children to be in His presence.
So I leave everyone with these questions to ponder this week:
Do you really believe that God loves you? Do you believe He loves you all the time?
If you can’t answer yes right away, know that you are being misled. Either by your own thinking, or the evil one is getting you to believe lies! So here are some nuggets of TRUTH for you to receive!!
1 John 3:1 - See what kind of love the Father has given us, that we should be called Children of God; so we are.
Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Zephaniah 3:17 - The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.
Men, choose to believe what God says in His Word! It will make it easier to have Joy in your lives!! I am proud of you!
Don’t forget to invite God into your day!
