Devo for 04/27/2025 service- Message by Pastor Jeff Collene
Pastor Jeff brought a very timely message in Part 2 of the series, “The Veil Torn.’ Jeff made the point that everything changed when Jesus announced, “It is Finished,” and the Veil tore from top to bottom. It was at this point that our greatest gift was given to us: Unrestricted access to God and a grace-filled path to reconciliation was granted!
Pastor Jeff made a statement during his message that I felt was worth highlighting.
“Some of you are trying to minister from a dry well, and need to be refilled.”
The premise was that Jesus gave everything He had to do the work of God while on earth, even up to the point of His death. Throughout his time on earth, Jesus had to go to the Father to be refilled, to replace what He had given with fresh revelation and spiritual provision. We need to do the same thing!
As leaders in the home and leaders in the Church, we focus on being providers, protectors, mentors, husbands, partners, ministers, brothers, teachers, and more. It becomes very easy to find ourselves giving and giving, never to slow down to rest, receive, and refill.
So, are you in a position where you need to refill? Have you given so much that you are trying to minister “from a dry well?” Jesus, as He always does, shows us how to do just that:
There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience. Hebrews 4:9-11
Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” John 7:37-38
So make sure you take time to rest, and run to Jesus to “drink” and refill your spirit, so the busyness of the world won’t make you weary and tired. Take time during the day, not only in the morning, but during the busiest parts of your day, to run to the Father and let Him refill you. It will change your life!
Don’t forget to invite God into your day!
