Devo for 09/28/2025 Service - Message by Pastor Clint Sprague
This past Sunday, Pastor Clint landed the plane on his series “The Way That Leads to Life”. In this series, we went through the Sermon on the Mount and did a deep dive, looking at God’s values that transform how we should live and love!
This week, Pastor Clint spoke about King Josiah, who, after discovering God’s Word, changed his life and pursued God over other things. Josiah tore down idols and encouraged others to do the same. Josiah was so on fire for the Lord that, even though the people had angered God immensely, this was still how Josiah was described:
Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the Lord as he did—with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses. 2 Kings 22-25
Are you living a life that people would say this about you? Josiah got this reputation because he intentionally and radically pursued God and all that God had for him. Can you say that about yourself?
As Jesus told us, we must not only “hear” the Word, but “DO” the Word.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.” Matthew 7:21
Men, this verse should be taken to heart. We are all called to do what God wants us to do. Pastor Clint gave a great way to get engaged and go all in pursuing the Lord.
Read the Bible- Make this a priority!!
Make notes in your bible! God can speak through your notes!
Journal! Write things down, this is a great way to hear from God!
Have an Open Heart! James tells us to “Draw near to God, and HE WILL draw near to you!!
Finally, let God tell you what needs work. Spend time alone in His presence and listen! Ask Him to show you one thing at a time to work on. Then work on it!
Pursuing the lord with all of your heart and with all of your soul and with all of your strength WILL bring growth, blessing, and courage into your life!
Don’t forget to invite God into your day!
