Devo for 11/30/2025 Service - Message by Pastor Clint

Pastor Clint finished up the series “With Thankful Hearts” this past weekend.  Pastor Clint started his message with a story from his days as a new believer.  In 1987, as a new believer, his mentor encouraged him to go help on a ranch in Washington State'.  Pastor Clint shared how it was supposed to be a ranch for wayward boys, and he was going to be part of the staff.  However, to his suprise, there was nobody else on the ranch but the man who ran it.  Pastor Clint shared many stories of challenges and hard times, including the fact that there were no accommodations, and he had to sleep in his van.

I encourage everyone to watch the message if you missed it as there is a lot of good stories and content, but I want to focus on the impact that being alone on a ranch in the middle of Washington state had on Pastor Clint’s relationship with God.  Since the man on the ranch went to bed early, Pastor Clint shared how, being alone in his van each night,  the Lord ministered to his heart and changed his life.

It would be great if each of us had the opportunity to spend 5 months away from the busyness of the world, with nothing else to do but spend time with God. Most of us can't do that; however, we could make it a priority to block out time just for Him.  We will do it for a Chiefs game or a vacation, why not do it for God?  If we will give God our time and our heart, He will do great things for you and in you.

So I suggest each of you look at your schedule and be intentional about setting aside time to just be in the presence of God.  Eliminate all distractions, including electronics, music, people, etc.   Once you begin your time with Him, simply tell Him hello and ask what He wants to say.  Then listen.

You might just discover some important things about your life.

“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him… “(Psalm 37:7a)

Don’t forget to invite God into your day!
