Devo for 5/24/2026 - Message by Pastor Clint

Pastor Clint brought week 4 of the series “Sharing Jesus” this past weekend.  He reminded us that last week’s message showed how Jesus calls us to be salt and light.  This light is a gift that Jesus has given us to cut through the darkness of this world.  This “gift” is given to all who choose to follow Him!

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said,

“I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12

Pastor Clint then gave an analogy from Dr. Jack Hayford:  “Jesus is like the sun, and the Church is like the moon.”  His point is that the moon reflects sunlight.  As Christians (the Church), we should reflect Jesus to those with whom we come in contact.  In all that we do, people should see the Light (Jesus) that enables us to overcome the world's darkness.

So, are you a reflector?  Does your life “reflect” Jesus? Do you look for opportunities to tell people what Jesus did in your life?  Are you the positive in a negative environment? Are you an encourager?  Do people see you and think of honor?  Do you reflect moral excellence?

Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise—dwell on these things. Do what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you. Phillipians 4:8-9

Take some time this week and ask God how you are doing with reflecting.  Then commit to finding opportunities to show the light of Jesus!

Don’t forget to invite God into your day!
