Devo for 3/8/2026 - Message by Pastor Clint
Pastor Clint brought the 4th installment of the Hearing God series this past weekend. The key verse is John 10:27:
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”
In the series we have looked at the fact that God is relational, He is a communicator, and his number one way He speaks to us is through His written Word. Pastor Clint reiterated that God is always speaking and that we are created to hear from Him.
“Hearing God is not a special privilege for a few, but a natural part of growing relationship with Him” Dallas Willard
This weekend Pastor Clint spoke on the Holy Spirit and how God uses Him to speak to us. As believers, the Holy Spirit lives in us. (“And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us.” 1 John 4:13). Jesus tells us that he is sending us a Helper (Holy Spirit) who will teach us things (John 14:26), guide us in Truth, (John 16:13) and let us walk in freedom! (2 Corinthians 3:17). Think of the Holy Spirit as our interpreter, the one that can sift through the noise of the world, and all the voices we hear, and interpret what our Father wants us to hear.
As we look at the gift of the Holy Spirit, I think it is important to realize how He can work within us to be reconciled back to God in our sin and shortcomings. He will work in our spirit to allow us to overcome our flesh and weaknesses. But, we have to be willing to listen.
Since the Real Men event, we have been talking about Valor, and being a Godly Man of Valor. The acrostic for Valor was Vision-Authenticity-Love-Obedience-Relationship. These are all traits a Godly Man of Valor should work towards. This week I think it is a good opportunity to allow the Holy Spirit to work within us, and let us know what the Father wants us to hear when it comes to the “O” in Valor- Obedience. Below are three questions you can take to the Holy Spirit.
Is my life marked by OBEDIENCE or Disobedience?
What is one clear step of OBEDIENCE I need to take now?
What “altar” needs to be torn down before I can win bigger battles?
I encourage you to take some time and let God, through the Spirit, guide you in growth and healing in the area of Obedience!
Don’t forget to invite God into your day!
