Devo for 5/03/2026 - Message by Pastor Aaron

What a great weekend as Pastor Aaron kicked off our new series, “Sharing Jesus”!  His main point that God designed us all to engage in creativity was spot on.  Each of us, no matter where we are in life, is made to be creative.

I believe most of us explored creativity as kids.  I know I had big dreams as a kid.  Wanting to be in the military, a professional bull rider, or play big league baseball.  I distinctly remember watching the first moon landing when Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, and I remember thinking how cool that would be.

As kids, we seemed to dream more.  As we grew up, most of us quit dreaming and just began living life.  Maybe you followed a dream and are doing that now.  Maybe your dream did not work out.  But no matter the circumstances, it did not change the fact that God designed us to be creative in life.  And creativity means to think outside the box.

I recently watched a clip of the Christian comedian Michael Jr.  He told the story about when he asked a man in the audience what he did for a living.  The man said, I am a mechanic who fixes cars.  After a back-and-forth conversation where Michael Jr. encouraged the man to look at what he did (mechanic) differently, he blurted out that he wasn’t just a mechanic, he was a guy who had a gift that allowed him to help people arrive at their destination!  This man learned that what he loved doing, fixing cars, was key to being creative and serving other people!

So, what happened to that dream you had as a kid, or when you started your job?  Did the spark just go away, or did you just move on?  As Pastor Aaron said, “Creativity is who we are,”  and then left us with this challenge:  Ask God to:

  • Use me

  • Reveal Your Heart through me,

  • Reveal Your testimony through me

Then go all in when he gives you the opportunity to be Creative!

Don’t forget to invite God into your day!
